The most important question we all face is: Whom do you say that Jesus is? Our eternal salvation depends upon the answer we give. The following are a few things concerning salvation that need to be realized and done. Realize that all have sinned and need a Savior. “All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Rom. 3:23). “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us” (1John 1:8). 1. Repent of sin. “Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish” (Luke 13:3) “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out” (Acts 3:19) 2. Confess your sins to God. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (I John 1:9). “With the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Rom. 10:10) 3. Forsake sin. “Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord...for he will abundantly pardon” (Is. 55:7). 4. Believe in the finished work of Christ on the cross. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). 5. Receive Jesus Christ into your heart by faith. “As many as received him, to them gave he power to become the songs of God, even to them that believe on his name” (John 1:13). 6. Proclaim Jesus as Lord. “If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved...For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Rom. 10:9,13)
Dear God in heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I’m sorry for my sins and for the life I have lived. I ask you for forgiveness and to cleanse me with your blood from all unrighteousness. You said in your Holy Word, “if we confess the Lord our God and believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead, we shall be saved. Right now I confess Jesus Christ as the Lord of my life. With my heart, I believe that God raised Him from the dead. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior and according to His Word, right now I am saved. Thank you, Jesus, for dying for me and giving me eternal life. Amen
